First off, assess where you are today. This is where you DECIDE.
- What are you doing right?
- What are you doing wrong?
Second, what are you wanting to accomplish in the short term? COMMIT.
It’s tempting to want to look long term. But with health and wellness, time is our enemy. We want quicker results with immediate gratification.
To help combat this tendency, keeping your goals shorter and concise increases consistency.
Now that doesn’t mean you don’t express or have a general idea of what you want long term. You want results, create your now with consistency.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Create YOUR now with consistency!
The key here is doing what is doable. Don’t commit yourself to working out every day if you haven’t worked out in years. You are setting yourself up for failure.
Instead, let’s set you up for success!
- PLAN – Continue what you are doing right and include it in your schedule. Add ONE thing to your schedule to begin to reach your goals.
- An example would be you are already working out. Yet you could stop eating so much process or pre-packaged food. So set a goal to eat only 1-2 process meals a week instead of every day.
- PREP – Look at what you designed and get exactly what you need. Nothing more, nothing less. Your focus here is not getting distracted by all the stuff you may want or think you want. It’s meeting a need now!
- You are already working out. So you are now going to make your Friday night and Tuesday afternoon your process or pre-packaged meals. Every other meal is going to be healthy with real foods.
- Take A.I.M. – Time to let your action ignite motivation.
There seems to be an underlining theme that health and wellness begins on Monday. Why wait? Do what works for your schedule.
