What you put in to your body has a huge impact on how you absorb nutrients and fight disease.
Unfortunately, we make decisions that don’t add to the goodness of our digestive tract.
- Poor diet – Eating with our eyes and nose rather than what our body needs to improve digestion so we can enhance our nutrients and increase the absorption rate.
- Medications – When we get sick, we are quick to do anything to take away the “yuck” we feel, reducing the symptoms as much as possible and hopefully speeding up our recovery.
- Alcohol – This stuff kills off the good gut bacteria and increases acidity.
- Stress – When you stress out all the time, even if it’s in thoughts only, you put your body into fight or fight mode. You are stealing crucial resources away from your gut to help your body function more normal.
- Healthy diet – Even when you eat healthy, your gut can still be lacking in nutrients to operate efficiently. Part of this comes from the lack of nutrients in our soil now and also the need of fermented foods.
- Extra CLEAN – The more you use the antibacterial washes and sanitizers kill the “bugs” you need to build your immunity.

- Eat probiotic-rich foods to increase your overall health
- Yogurt
- Kefir (like yogurt, but thinner)
- Kimchi
- Sauerkraut (fermented cabbage)
- Kombucha (fermented tea beverage. It contains alcohol and caffeine)
- Miso (salty, soybean paste used in Asian cooking)
- Meditate/Rest/Devotions – Make time to BE STILL.
- Clean with soap and water, even steam clean.
- Breathe to reduce stress throughout the day.
- Supplements (pre/probiotics, digestive enzymes, etc.)
