Did you know that you have super powers? You are a super parent! But what happens when you need to get your child to go from worrier to warrior?
How do you help them move forward when life isn’t going the way they expected? You see, children live by realtime alone. It’s harder for them to recall their successes when things are going their way.

This world has so many things being thrown at our children. So many distractions like:
- Social media
- TV or Netflix
- School work
- Test scores
- Relationships
We all have worriers. In fact, we are probably contributing to that somewhat.
Ultimately, we need to go from worrier to warrior!
But how in the world can you get them there?
Is it a place where you physical drive to? Is it a feeling that you have to cultivate?
I’ve been running in circles with this whole worrying fascination. And yes, I believe it to be a fascination. Worry is luring the negativity and making it THE FOCUS.
Anything that is fascinating has obsession or luring written all over it.
We moved and my youngest, Gman, I thought was doing much better. But this week has been a bit of a challenge. There’s been times that he acts as if he just started school and everything is unknown.
Then there’s four other children. Three of which are having their own ups and downs in the worry department.
I’m telling you; I’ve got to get off of this worry train, for them and for me.
As their super parent, it’s time for us harness those super powers that we’ve gained from years and years of experience.
However, what can keep us from passing on our super powers is that we get stuck in our own messes and don’t see how many blessings we have right before us.
So if you want to share your super powers and help your child move from worrier to warrior, you must be willing to do the same.
But it’s greater than modeling. It’s a pond for your child’s heart; a life’s reflection.
Now don’t fret if you feel like you are not a super parent. We are the worst judge of ourselves. The key is you are doing the best you can.
So now with that out of the way, you can understand that modeling via actions and words are important. Yet the greatest influence is in the heart.
You want to take them from worrier to warrior, it’s the heart that make the difference. Because when you get the heart involved, you touch an area of their life that is on fire for something more than just what they can hold in their hand (like a cell phone, grade on a test, or a boy/girlfriend’s hand.
It’s the heart that’s going to get them to believe in who the are and whose they are.
These last few days have been a little touch and go. And there were times I prayed that God would provide exactly what they needed at the time of a test, at work, whatever.
That’s all I could do when I wasn’t with them. They had to rely on themselves to get through the situation or circumstance.
Therefore, they too need to have tools in their toolbox building their super powers so they can battle the messes.
It’s unfortunate that some of our children just get bogged down. They see the bigger picture and the drowning begins.
So how do you go from worrier to warrior?
Well of course, it’s one step at a time. You know that.
“One step at a time leads to miles of greatness.” ~ Kristianne Wargo
But not only is it one step at a time, it’s creating belief in the heart of your child.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Create belief in the heart of your child!
Are you ready to use some super powers, super parent?
- Build a foundation of positive reinforcement and positive statements that your child can believe for themselves. So they begin to own it. These reflect YOUR beliefs in them. You might be telling them things they haven’t thought about. Maybe it’s sharing a scripture with them to build them up.
- Consistently remind your child of their greatness.
“A child only knows what’s right in front of them.” ~ Kristianne Wargo
- They forget about what you said three conversations or five days ago.
- You have to remind them consistently that this is who they are and whose they are. The words need to be heartfelt and even spiritual. This creates a lifetime connection for them.
- Let’s say you show your belief in them through actions. So you reward your child with ice cream after a great score on a test. If you continue this, then they’re going to associate your love with ice cream. I know mom loves me because she gives me ice cream.
- Those aren’t super powers. Not for them. Maybe for you after a bad day, but that’s for another episode.
- You want to reach their heart!
- Ultimately, you want to gift them the sword of belief. This is the culmination of all you’ve been doing for your child. It’s time to let them go fight the battles. You want them to see that they can do it on their own. Confidence check. Belief check.
You now have moved your child from worrier to warrior. Now it’s time for battle!
“Kiss the worrier goodbye. The warrior is ready!”
