The K.I.S.S. ~ Work with the pain!
With a vigorous workout challenge, your muscles are going to be sore. However, giving up is NOT an option.
- Hydrate. Hydrate. HYDRATE. (Pre-, During, Post-)
- Eat properly with good protein. To build muscle, you must eat protein.
- Warm-up prior to your strength training. In fact, your warm-up needs be considered part of your workout.
- Stretch it out both before and after your workout. This too must be apart of your workout time. Plus, you can do it extra if you need it.
- Enjoy an ice bath or really COLD shower.
- Use heat later as you progress through your day.
- Pineapple does the muscles good. Or some tart cherries. Bromelain, an enzyme, has anti-inflammatory benefits.
- Use your sore muscles the day after. Rest is good, but keep moving.
- Foam rolling and massage.
- Topical treatments like epson salt baths.
