Tis the season for extra busyness laden with stress and excess germs. Leave the catching up mindset behind and learn how to strengthen your immune system, so you can enjoy more of the season than a bed of sniffles and coughs.
The colder it gets, the more we spread germs. We don’t get outside as much as we do in the spring and and in the summer. We are cooped up with little room to breathe.

It’s time now to start beefing up your immune system.
Now there are many nutrients that impact the immune system which you’re very familiar with:
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin D
- Vitamin E
However, there are some you don’t here much about, but are essential to your overall well-being.
So let’s strengthen your immune system.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Strengthen your immune system!
- Zinc: It’s an essential mineral for a healthy immune system as it supports cellular activity, healing wounds, and normal growth. Zinc also acts as an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.
- Foods high in zinc: eggs, red meat (grass-fed beef or lamb), chickpeas, cashews, almonds, hemp seeds, and pumpkin seeds, plus more.
- Selenium: It’s a necessary mineral to fight seasonal sickness. It also helps to counteract the aging of the immune system. So as you get wiser, you immune system stays a little younger.
- Brazil nuts are one of the richest sources of selenium. You don’t need a ton a day (like 2-3).
- Eggs, salmon, beef, and turkey including sunflower seeds, brown rice, mushrooms, and spinach.
- Vitamin A: This vitamin is special! It packs a punch for an incredible immune system. It keeps your mucous membranes that cover internal organs strong so infection is kept out. Vitamin A is also important for proper functioning of immune cells and for the generation of antibody responses to specific antigens.
- Eggs, meat, fish, and organs like liver (preformed vitamin A). Your body can use it as it.
- Eat colorful vegetables (deep green, yellow, and orange). Kale, spinach, carrots, and sweet potatoes. These plant-based sources contain provitamin A carotenoids,(including beta-carotene). Your body has to break this down to be utilized.
Food is medicine.
Now if you think about all the foods we mentioned, there is one that stands out. EGGS!!!
A couple eggs a day keeps the doctor away!
If you are putting CRAP in, what do you think you will get out?
CRAP!!!
Eat to stay well this season and all year long. Keep your body strong by eating foods to strengthen your immune system.
“Cheers to a fabulous fall and winter season! Eat healthy to strengthen your immune system.”
