How much of your day focuses on daily responsibilities? The stuff you just do, because you have to. Find the beauty in the mundane.
It’s the little things in life that impact your day. Same goes for your marriage.

Your marriage is shaped by the little things which all adds up to bigger things.
But for some reason, we rationalize that it’s the bigger things causing us grief, frustration, despair, or disappointment.
If you think specifically about situations that come up in your marriage:
- disagreements of plans
- arguments of money
- frustrations of attention
Very rarely does it involve something HUGE like buying a car or house on the whim. It’s more about the little things.
It’s the little things that comprise more than 15 hours on average of our focus. Crazy? Yes, but that’s what it says in a 2017 Bureau of Labor Statistics released June 2018.
But wrapped in those little things are blessings in disguise.
After a long day of work, you have the privilege of coming to a place you call home. Now it may not have everything in its proper place.
- Dishes may greet you in the kitchen. The blessings here… You have food. Yet, it is a home!
- Toys all over the house. You have children or fur babies to enjoy and make you smile.
- Clothes and shoes everywhere, especially the bedroom. You can afford to have more than one pair of shoes and one pair of jeans.
We can let ourselves get pulled in by what we think our every day is supposed to look like. But in real life, no matter how much we want it a certain way, the day never lives up to that way!
So instead of becoming exasperated with your spouse or frustrated with your children, or maybe you want to send the dog to the doghouse, think again!
Find the beauty in the mundane.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Find the beauty in the mundane!
The beauty of paying bills is incredible. You have the ability to pay the bill even if only a little bit. But it’s a blessing.
The beauty of dirty laundry overflowing the dirty clothes basket means you have clothes that you can afford and you enjoy wearing.
And we can’t leave out all the little things our spouse does that gets under our nerves.
- leaving the toilet lid up
- specific morning routine
- how the food is chewed
- the filing system
Find the beauty in the mundane (the less exciting or interesting).
- Acknowledge the good in the little things.
- Seek the blessing in the mess.
- Know nothing crumbles over night.
