Maybe turning down red meat and enjoying lean meats more often. Oh, but then you have your vegetarians who question meat at all.
But actually, how to cut the fat has nothing to do with your nutrition. It’s all about what is keeping you from becoming healthy; living that healthy lifestyle.
Every new year is started with a resolution of getting healthier, whether it’s losing weight, gaining muscle, eating better. You just want to live a life that serves you, whatever that looks like.
However, we get stuck in our same ole stuff, because we don’t see the fat moving.
- The number on the scale.
- The inches around our waste.
- The size on the hanger.
- The cost of food decreasing.
- The brain fog disappearing.
- The level of energy increasing.
I want you to erase in your mind everything you have been told about how to lose weight and get healthier. No assumptions. No jumping the gun. Just listen for a moment.
When you look at your life, how do you see yourself interacting in your daily responsibilities?
And I want you to be very realistic.
- Empty-nester: How are you hanging out with your grown children? What about your 2 year-old grandchild?
- Older grade school children and College: How are you keeping up with their late nights, social interests, etc.?
- Pre-school to elementary: How is your energy?
- New parent: Are you getting through your day with a smile?
Most of us have pre-determined that health is defined by a number. If a number is driving your health journey, it’s going to be a never-ending battle. You will always be on a roller coaster.
Why?
Numbers always change. And then there will be another study that comes out and says your should be this or do that at this age or stage in your life.
Who wants to live by a number?
Think about this. We live most of our lives by numbers.
- Age
- Enneagram
- Finances
- Dates
- ACT/SAT
- GPA
- Mileage
- Taxes
- Calories
Numbers can serve us to a degree. It can be a resource. But when it comes to controlling your every move, we have a problem.
We miss the main point of being healthy. That’s to LIVE!!!

How do you cut the fat so you can live, love, and IMPACT?
- LIVE – Define what “healthy living” is for you? What does it look like? Be specific in the activities and actions you want to be able to perform.
- LOVE – Love you no matter where you are in your journey. Even if you are heavier than you want to be, love yourself.
- IMPACT – I’M Pushing Ahead Creating Transformation. Impact brings about change. You are always changing. You are impacting yourself, family, friends, and those in the world you touch.
You matter — the number doesn’t. Cut the fat! Don’t be consumed by numbers. Your success is not wrapped up in numbers. Your dreams are not determined by numbers.
