Life moves faster than a heartbeat. There’s never a good time to work on your marriage, to take a vacation as a couple, or to even snuggle on the weekend.
All we worry about is what’s next on the activity schedule, how fast do we need to rush something to school for the children, or what’s for dinner.

Sounds so silly when I say it out loud. Are we seriously worried about everything but our most important relationship, our marriages?
What if we were to look at things through a different lens?
Yesterday, I had plans to work on the AIM Academy along with scheduling interviews for the “My Strength is My Story” series.
But instead, I was met with a screw in my husband’s tire. There’s never a good time!
So after dropping off the boys at school, I preceded to figure out where I should take the truck for a tire repair. It was important I get it done sooner rather than later, because my hubby was off to the airport early that afternoon.
If you want an incredible marriage, you have to make the time!
The K.I.S.S. ~ Make the time!
When something matters, you make the time. You don’t wait around for the perfect time or for all the stars to align. It’s not going to happen. You’ll be left out in the dark.
So you have to make the time for what matters.
And since it’s relationship builders, then obviously your marriage matters.
How do you make the time so you can drop the excuse that there’s never a good time?
- Schedule flexibility. Leave room for changes.
- Be present in your day. Don’t let your emotions overtake your reactions. You want to respond to the matter at hand, not react. There is a difference.
- Carve out non-negotiable time for each other. You must spend time together as a couple. This is the time you set apart for only the two of you. You must be intentional with your time. Otherwise, your time will slip away.
And then you’ll catch yourself saying, “There’s never a good time.”
There is plenty of time in the day to do what matters. You have to decide what matters most and align your schedule to your relationship priorities.
Honor your spouse. Honor your marriage.
YOU matter!
“Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!”
