Now that I have your attention. That is exactly what you’re doing when you are putting junk in your mouth. You might as well be sitting on the toilet.
Did you know that January 17th is the day to ditch your New Year’s resolutions? I had no idea such a day existed. If you Google it, there is a calendar of dates to come in the next 7 to 10 years.
Are we planning already to fail?
How crazy are we to have a date that gets rid of what we professed to be our goals for the new year?
We fill ourselves with junk and feed our minds with crap. No wonder we’re on the toilet.
Now that’s real life!!
Wellness is not about doing something for a short time and then abandoning the plan to go back to what was wrong in the first place. Wellness is the state of being in good health.
If you desire to live a full life, you must have the plate that nourishes the body.
Eat what’s real!

When you go into your pantry, look at all that’s there. In fact, mine is a mess. With a big family, you definitely have the easy, grab ‘n go food. But ultimately, we have to be realistic.
For the majority of pantry food, there is no solid nutrition. And this isn’t a big shocker to anyone. We just ignore what we don’t want to change.
I get it. Been there, done that!
However, you are made for more. And so is your family. With a little concentrated effort, you can have the plate that nourishes the body.
So how can you get there?
- Choose foods on the outside parameter of the grocery store.
- Eat lots of bright colors. (Vegetables & fruits)
- Fist pump your protein.
Some would say that this sounds great, but doesn’t it cost more?
There are ways you can keep the cost at or even lower.
- Shop weekly sales and different stores.
- Buy in bulk where it makes sense. (Think freezer.)
- Raid the frozen section.
One thing people take issue with is how much food do we eat. Well, most of our plates are way too big for what we should be eating. Portion control is important. It helps save money and calories.
The plate that nourishes the body isn’t just about food. You have to look at all sides of the coin.
When you eat your food, you not only want your appetite to be fed, but you want your eyes to be delighted and your nose to tingle.
