Today is your breakthrough moment. You have what it takes to achieve your dreams. But you have to break your heart of stone. Until then, you will remain where you stand.
Unfortunately, dreams live and die on other people’s demands and expectations. We live for the approval of others.

As we continue down this path, our heart is slowly anchored to their definition of success and failure. When success is present, all is well. We do the “happy dance” and continue on with the same ole thing.
When failure is present, it doesn’t go so well. The “happy dance” is more of a somber retreat. Yet what really happens is the heart gets heavy and hardens just a little due to the hurt of failure.
If you invest in what others believe about you, you will never live out your heavenly potential. All you’ll achieve is little of what others believe.
You can’t live up to everyone and everything. In facing achievement, how much was really based on others and what they did?
Not many dreams become a reality from the expectations of others.
Take the Kansas City Chiefs for example. If it was up to the fans, the Chiefs would have been back to the Super Bowl many times. But it’s been 50 years since their last Super Bowl. The Chiefs Kingdom could not wish them, will them, or believe in them enough to get them to the Super Bowl. Each player had to learn their part as they performed as a team. Nothing came easy. Yet all the work was worth it.
Break your heart of stone.
It’s not about others. It’s about YOU!
You can do all things through Christ who gives you strength. (Philippians 4:13)
There is no reason for you to prove yourself. Because every time you go for what you want and fail, your heart hardens. You only see failure. Hope begins to fade. More mistakes are made. You become distracted and discouraged for things that go unnoticed. No longer is anyone looking. Perfection is far beyond your reach.
Proving yourself only puts you at a disadvantage. Do you want a leg up?
Break your heart of stone.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Break your heart of stone!
Have you noticed that people only celebrate what they can see?
Back to the NFC and AFC Championship games. Green Bay Packers’ fans are a little upset because they didn’t win the game. Yet how quickly they forget the comeback the week before against the Seattle Seahawks.
No one notices all the little things you do; the stuff no one can see. Because if they did, your praises would be sung ALL the time.
You can
- Celebrate the unseen. Have you ever been upset when someone doesn’t notice your hard work? It hurts, but only because you value their approval of your work more than of yourself. Remember, people only celebrate what they see. Think about it. There are many things that go unseen. Your hard work with your children. Your hard work on your business. Your kindness to someone who is hurting. Your healthy living habits. Celebrate what your heart knows to be true.
- Let go of what does not serve you. Personal growth comes when you know when to hold on or when to let go. Maybe there is a relationship that isn’t serving you. You might be doing a job that really doesn’t suit your current season in life.
- Take a wise risk. You have to be secure in who you are and your abilities, and be willing to jump when the time is right. And that might be when you’re most nervous. Now don’t go out and jeopardize your health or finances.
Break your heart of stone.
In life, people will look for your inconsistencies, your faults. You have to rise above that.
God sees beauty in the ashes. So you too need to look for what He already sees.
What are you living for? Where do you need to shift your focus so you can break your heart of stone?
