The inner critic in all of us shouts day and night. It shows up in dark alleys, bright days, starry nights, and cloudy days.

Those inner critic voices yell hurtful things. They place doubt in all the cracks and crevices of the day. The voices constantly judge and belittle you. And the best one of all is, “You’re not good enough.”
Your inner critic can become very harmful. It can stifle your dreams and goals. It can rob you of your well-being and hope. It can lead to serious mental health issues.

With that all being said, negative self-talk is a part of life. But it should not consume you!
However, there is a BIG surprise.
Did you realize that 5% of your thoughts come from your conscious mind? That leaves 95% for the subconscious mind. There is the unconscious mind, but we will leave that for another day.
You have 50,000 – 70,000 thoughts per day. That’s 38-49 thoughts per minute.
How many thoughts have you thought since the beginning of this episode?
Confusing? YES! And mind-blowing!!!
According to an article in Psychology Today, a group of business students demonstrated that of their subconscious thoughts, 70-80% were of a negative tone. This is the “never”, “can’t”, “shouldn’t” phrases.
Yet of their thoughts, they thought they were thinking 60% positive.
That’s the power of your thoughts and the subconscious being able to override even your perceived thoughts (from your conscious mind).
It vital to learn how to stop the negative self-talk and awaken the greatness within.
And the way to do that is to WHACK-a-Thought!

Know your thoughts to change your thoughts!
You have to think about what you’re thinking.
- WRITE your thoughts – Take inventory or keep a log of what you are thinking. Know what you are thinking.
- Day One – thoughts
- Day Two – thoughts and situation
- Day Three – thoughts, situation, and reaction
- HARMONIZE your thoughts
- Balance the good with the bad
- Match your thoughts with your dreams/goals
- ASSESS your thoughts
- Negative vs. Positive
- Triggers
- Patterns
- CRAFT your thoughts
- Replace negative with positive thoughts
- Create constructive growth thoughts (constructive criticism)
- KNOW your thoughts
- Never stop knowing
- Think before you speak
- Think before you think (Ultimate awareness)
Keep in mind that in order to make a thoughtful change, you must be deliberate about the thoughts you think.
Nothing happens overnight. It will take effort on your part. But you can be more positive and less negative.
Remember to be kind to yourself. YOU matter!
Change your mindset by changing your thoughts.
