Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less. ~ Marie Curie
One of the greatest struggles is how we handle fear.

Fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain or a threat.
Secondly, fear is a feeling of anxiety concerning the outcome of something or the safety and well-being of someone.
It’s what we identify with that makes us anxious and nervous due to a threat or possible pain (whether that’s with something or someone).
Now you have experienced the fear that is unexplainable; the kind that stops you and you are forced to fight, flee, or freeze. This is the life and death type.
Today, I don’t want you to focus on that extreme fear. What I do want you to concentrate on is your everyday fear; the fear that keeps you from moving forward or making a decision. It’s the fear of the unknown.
When you don’t know something and lack confidence in the outcomes, our knee-jerk reactions are to stay put and be safe. Comfort is safety.
But as Marie Curie said, fear is to be understood.
We need not worry so much about what we can’t do or how we can’t go a certain direction and maintain a mindset that fear brings about change for greater reward. However, that comes with understanding your fear.
So where are you with fear today?
Part of understanding fear is knowing that fear can motivate you as much as it can limit you.
Step into the motivation today and don’t judge the moment.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Don’t judge the moment!
Let’s admit it. Judgment is super easy to do. We judge while running errands, reading a text, streaming favorite videos or shows, and even when going to bed.
Judgment is strong amongst you. It’s a human protection measure to the ego. Fair or not, it’s the truth.
So if you are ready to not let fear rule your every day, don’t judge the moment.
- Own where you stand. Take responsibility for the circumstance or situation. The gut reaction is to run and hide. There’s no need.
- Accept it. See it for what it is, not what it could be. What If vs. What Is. Don’t let your imagination run wild. Look at it for what it is, not what you are making it out to be. You don’t want to get lost in the what if’s. Focus on what is!
- Stay present. Be in the moment, not of the fear. Fear is temporary and so is the circumstance/situation you are going through. What is the fix for now? How are you going to respond not react?
When pressed against a wall or caught in a corner, we are quick to defend. Take an offensive stance like in football. Reframe what is and forget the what if’s. Observe your patterns of how you’re dealing with it.
Now is the time to understand more so you can fear less.
