Now there are some basics rules that most of us know, but are challenged to stick to the everyday goals.
Let’s review so of the foundational hacks to crush your cravings.
- Stay hydrated. Drink more water than you eat. And be sure to drink liquids that are not laced with sugar and sugar substitutes.
- Sleep more. Most of us are living life with our eyes half-closed. We are exhausted by the early evening. Don’t sacrifice your body for more sugar cravings.
- Eat your protein. What you fill-up on, you become. Protein grows your muscles. Sugar explodes your cravings. which do you choose?
Of those basics, which one do you need to say “YES” to today? Take that one to the next level. You got this!
The K.I.S.S. ~ Crush your cravings!
Know the problem, commit to the solution.
- Ditch the emotions. Associating your food with what makes you happy or sad only gets you into trouble. When you are hungry you need food. When you are craving, you need a feeling. Do not let your feelings set your menu. Eat what your body needs and ditch the emotions.
- Food is food. It’s not about good food or bad food. Food is food. See it for what it is, not what you try to make it. The more you want something you can’t have, the more you try and get it. Think back to your teenage years. Don’t be the rebel. See food as a gift, not a curse.
- No more temptations. How much does food show up in your every day? And I’m not talking about in the kitchen when you’re ready to eat. This is in your social media feed, passing by restaurants while running errands, and advertisements on where you watch your favorite videos/shows. We are highly affected by appealing messaging and imagery. Don’t be tricked by on-screen food. It’s not as good as you think. No more temptations.
Say yes to you, your body, and your life!
You matter!
So don’t let your cravings rule the day. Plan your meals and your snacks. Eat your protein and your veggies. Drink your water and enjoy the food you choose to eat.
That’s how you crush your cravings. NO more bad, only great!
