Everything in life begins with a thought. From there, your thoughts determine your actions. But the in-between is where the patterns are established. What patterns are you choosing to hold onto that’s discouraging your actions?

However, when have you really analyzed what you are doing in your own every day?
Most of us don’t unless there is some significant reason to do so (usually a crisis) or it involves a job. It comes from extreme pressure points.
But it’s in the in-between where your mindsets are created; the spoken and unspoken ways to which your actions will follow. You could consider them the Commandments of Your Life.
These commandments are chosen or adopted by you; some by choice and others by influence.
So if you are in search of something different, then you have to be willing to change your thoughts to impact your actions.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Change your thoughts to impact your actions!
And that means breaking down those mindsets that trip you up all the time. You gotta get back to the basics.
Have you ever driven a car and hit a pothole?
- Rattles the occupants
- Jerks your tire
- Cause damage to the tire and alignment
- Bring damage to other parts of the undercarriage
This is the same with your thoughts. If your thoughts are destructive like a pothole, they can disrupt and dismantle your desires.
Think of it like this…
A negative thought is a pothole. When you strike it (or engage with it), there are consequences that follow.
These consequences can be good and bad. Yet they demand a response or a reaction. And this is where the chain or pattern is established.
Your thoughts have a ripple effect. What you think about helps to construct your ways to get the results you are looking for.
So how can you change your thoughts to impact your actions?
You have to start in the middle! And no one likes to start in the middle. It’s too messy and doesn’t make logical sense.
When you begin this process, choose one area and be specific (i.e., arguments at dinner with your spouse, etc.).
- What outcome/result are you looking for? (GOAL)
- To get that outcome/result, what must happen in order for you to take aim? (ACTIONS)
- What thoughts are getting in the way to get you where you want to go today? (DIRECTION)
Now you can take your thoughts and make the change to impact the Commandments of Your Life; these are the mindsets (or patterns) in which you think that define your actions in your every day. Here is where you build a mental alliance.
CHALLENGE: Pick a specific area in your life and then break it down. Ask yourself the questions and see what you think you don’t focus on but always do.
