Do you find yourself wishing you could have a better marriage? Even when things do get better, it’s tempting to go back to the way it used to be. Instead, restore the new and move forward.
Marriages that have gone through dysfunction and suffered many wounds, they can be restored.

I am living proof!
But what happens is one or both people become too acquainted with how it used to be. And if we’re honest, it’s much easier to maintain something that’s already familiar than inject the changed behavior.
However, I’m here to remind you that all the work to restore the new is more than worth it.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Restore the new!
Now we can focus on the actual changes in behavior and actions. Yet, I want to take you a step deeper.
When you restore the new, it’s about CASTING A SHARED VISION for your marriage.
This is a pivotal marker in reconciliation and healing.
- Think outside of the box. – If you keep your marriage and partner boxed into what you remember or felt, you will get nowhere. You’ll only get trampled by recurring memories that suck the life out of your relationship. So think outside the box. Determine what you all can do together that’s in common with casting the shared vision.
- Let patience lead your actions. – Change takes time. And for new habits or automated responses to take root, they too take time and consistency. So when you get a flashback of what was, quickly snap yourself into the mode of your shared vision and be patient with your spouse. Patience will build your resiliency to the slippery slope you don’t want to encounter again.
- May presence be the melody in your every day. – One of the dangerous actions is getting caught in the distractions. Distractions can derail any work very quickly which then leads to frustration and complicates the restoration. There is no reason to add fuel to the fire when you are trying to put out the fire.
Restore the new by casting a shared vision. Be committed to each other, not the stuff that will and can get in the way.
Your marriage is valuable. You owe it to yourself and your spouse to work on your marriage daily.
Yes, you’re going to get tired. Yes, you’re going to be short-tempered at times. Yes, you can still love each other even more than you do now.
