How can you future-proof your kids? Technology and scientific advances are not the answer. The discovery is made simply in the power of ritual.
What are you doing with your kiddos that have the presence of impact for today and tomorrow?

Very rarely do we look at the impact of our actions before acting. But if you and I could analyze what actions we desire to see within our children, our parenting skills and strategies can then adapt to the desired outcome.
No longer are we struggling to correct what we messed up.
Let’s first define ritual.
Ritual is defined as a series of actions or types of behavior regularly and invariably followed by someone.
Now, you are very familiar with various types of rituals, especially ceremonial and religious rituals.
But today, I want you to consider the rituals in your every day as a parent.
- Bedtime
- Morning
- Evening
- Reading
- Television
- Prayer
- Saturday
- Dinner
- Football
- Writing
When you break it down, rituals are simply actions repeated in the same manner to create your now.
I like to look at it as presence. And really knowing and being immersed in your day outside of responsibilities.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Utilize rituals in your every day!
The power of ritual allows your child to grow in confidence. The expectations are preset so you remove the “worry or concern” to please. Because you know deep down, we as human beings are people-pleasers.
In order to future-proof your child, you create a BiP on your everyday parenting radar.
- Build a hedge of protection. This is where you create a haven of peace in your home. Have an open-door policy so your child always feels safe with you no matter the situation or consequences that could result.
- Integrate what you want to sustain your child’s heart. This is going beyond the “stuff” of life and looking at the heartbeat of life; the values. You don’t get values from a television or apple watch or phone. But you can get it from personal interaction.
- Participate in your child’s every day. This is all about presence. You don’t need to show up as a dictator, but you do need to show up. There is that fine line.

Rituals connect the heart and the head; emotions and feelings with actions.
CHALLENGE: What ritual can you create with your child?
Remember, the key is not about the action, but creating the connection.
