Life is full of valleys and mountaintops; detours and synergistic moments. But when you are down, how do you get back up?
Because climbing out of any ditch or hole is a challenge and can defeat you easily.

Watching the Australian Open Men’s Final was nail-biting. You had one guy (Medvedev) going for his back-to-back win since his first grand slam win. Then, there’s the other guy (Nadal) who is looking to make tennis history with his 21st grand slam win to bump him over Federer and Djokovic.
One was wanting something to satisfy his yearning for a second win, and the other was winning not only for himself but for the tennis community.
In the second set, Nadal had the opportunity to win. But he lost that set in a tiebreak. Down two sets, Nadal had to climb out of the valley and win the next two sets to stay in the match.
Well, Nadal did just that which led to a fifth set. With the back and forth of being on serve and breaking each other, it came down to Nadal breaking on the sixth game to give him the opportunity to serve for the match.
Now, you and I both know that when you are down, it is such a challenge to get back up.
- Your mind is heavy with defeating thoughts.
- Your rhythm has been disturbed and interrupted.
- Your stamina is failing you because you are so tired.
- Your heart’s desire is buried in failure.
- Your will to do more is crushed.
- Your optimism is shaken.
- Your
There’s more wrong than there is right.
When you are down, how do you get back up?
The K.I.S.S. ~ C.L.I.M.B. every mountain!
Well, Nadal did just that. He C.L.I.M.B. every mountain, every hurdle to get him the ultimate goal which was to win the Australian Open 2022.
You don’t have to be an elite athlete to get what you want in your every day.
Let’s C.L.I.M.B. every mountain.
- COMPLIMENT your goal. What usually comes into play is comparison. That is a trap that will devour your dreams and goals in a heartbeat. When you compliment your goal, you are making space for what’s to come, even if you don’t know what that looks like. The focus is the goal, not the problem. Therefore, you are headed to the solution. Be a solution-finder.
- LEAD from logical. Don’t make it so much about the ambiguous dream or idea. What is that next step? What does it look like? Pre-supposing can get you into a lot of trouble down the road. Lead from logical; what you can tangibly do in the moment.
- IGNITE your inner-peace. This is where you show up because you know your strengths and your weaknesses. Don’t run from what you don’t know. Accept what you do know and work with that. The nerves are your energy. What you know is your stability.
- MASTER your manners. The beating of not succeeding has to end. “One step at a time leads to miles of greatness!” ~ Kristianne Wargo Be kind when the going gets tough. You don’t want to become exhausted from your own thoughts.
- BESTOW your presence. Give as a gift to yourself, your presence. You can’t maneuver what you can’t see and when you’re not moving. So step into what is happening (good or bad) and bestow your presence. This allows you to be stretched and groomed for what’s to come with the hard knocks or easy knocks of life.
Yesterday was the AFC and NFC Championships. The Cincinnati Bengals vs. the Kansas City Chiefs. Now if you were watching only the first half, you would have predicted that KC Chiefs would win. However, at the last 3 seconds of the half, instead of going for points, they tried a touchdown and failed. It was 21 to 10 Chiefs.
After halftime, the Bengals came storming out of the field with one thing in mind; get to the Super Bowl. Burrow, lead their team to get ahead of the Chiefs. With one minute and thirty-nine seconds left, the Chiefs walked it down the field, and instead of going for the touchdown, they ran the clock down to three seconds and tied the game with Butker’s kick.
Over time here we come. Chiefs won the toss to get the ball first. However, on the third play in overtime, the pass from Mahomes to Hill was intercepted by Bell, of the Bengals.
They C.L.I.M.B. every mountain to position themselves for a field goal to take them to the Super Bowl. This was a team that only won four games last season.
The Bengals didn’t focus on what they didn’t do in the first half. They started over and C.L.I.M.B. every mountain.
You can do the same thing.
- Compliment
- Lead
- Ignite
- Master
- Bestow
Your dream is yours to lose. So be a winner! Climb every mountain!
