I don’t know who you were rooting for in the Super Bowl. But both teams didn’t want to give up on their dreams of becoming Super Bowl Champions until the Cincinnati Bengals did not make a first down on 4th and 1 with 39 seconds left on the clock.
Not one of them saw themselves in that moment. It was always about finishing until the trophy was in their hands. Both teams had prepared all season with one game in mind.
That’s the picture each team painted every day and their actions followed suit.
QUESTION: Do your actions reflect the dreams or goals you desire for yourself?
Erin Jackson wins GOLD in the women’s 500m Short Track. And she didn’t start skating until 5 years ago. Don’t tell yourself that you are too old, or it’s not possible.
You can do anything you set your mind to. But you have to S.E.T. your mind to what you want.
The K.I.S.S. ~ S.E.T. your mind to what you want!
A lot of what we want comes not just from the heart, but from connecting the head with the heart. It takes two to tango; your heart and your head.
So you have to S.E.T. your mind to what you want.
- SATISFY with a vision in mind. This is where you set the tempo; what you are going after and what it will look like when you get there. It’s the overall effect of your dream!
- ENDURE the ups and downs. These are the ebbs and flows of success and failure; learning and stretching.
- Take A.I.M.! Action ignites motivation. And this comes from within completing the connection of the head and heart. Keep in mind that when you come alive daily, you must take A.I.M.!

CHALLENGE: What can you do to S.E.T. your mind to what you want?
- Do you need to define your dream?
- Do you need to set daily expectations?
- Do you need to be held accountable to someone?
- Do you need to gain certain skills?
One last story I want to leave you with. Elana Meyers Taylor, a member of the USA Bobsled Olympic Team tested positive for Covid when she arrived in China. So she was required to quarantine.
However, during that time, she still needed to train. And to top it off, she was traveling with her young child and husband. Her goal is to show women that they can be competitive and still have a family. She lives what she believes.
So after she tested positive, her coaches got the equipment and things she could do to continue her training until she could test negative. After not having her regular routine runs with the bobsled, she walks away with a silver in the individual.
That didn’t happen by chance. She made a choice to do what she needed to do to continue to live out her dream.
