When two married people are committed to each other, there are still things that one has a hard time of letting go. How do you balance love, control, and being right?
Well isn’t that the million-dollar question?

If it was only as easy as answering that question, your marriage would be the least of your concerns.
However, the fact that we are human beings leads us down the path of love, control, and being right.
You can allow yourself to do whatever is easier, but if you’re honest with yourself, you know that means it’s all about you.
Yet, knowing that you want something more from your relationship (and life), you can flip the script.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Flip the script!
When you flip the script, you are not defining your actions by only yourself. You logically know there are two people in the committed relationship; your marriage.
But if your marriage is all about you, then you really are looking at the relationship to yourself.
Don’t fall into the trap and pretend you care. You want to commit to what you care about.
However, that means looking to the other side; your spouse.
You have got to see what you haven’t been paying attention.
Do you even know what that looks like?
CHALLENGE: How do you balance love, control, and being right?
- LOVE comes from accepting and understanding that love is an action. And when you do love, you love unconditionally. Love with conditions fails the heart.
- CONTROL is great to have so long as it’s working for you. But a relationship is not about absolutes. Control works against your desire to live life together all the while canceling
- BEING RIGHT feels incredible for your ego. Let’s be real! Yet, it squishes any hope of building up your spouse.
The key word is balance which comes with flexibility, adaptability, compromise, and compassion. There must be give and take in a marriage, or it will not work.
Plus, you can’t be one who is standing on the sidelines either. Be bold about your commitment and strive to thrive in the balance.
