Why does life have to be so challenging? Why does the hurt have to be so painful? Why do bad things happen to good people?

All are powerful questions that I don’t have an answer to.

I find myself strolling on the sidewalks wondering if peace is really possible.

And then I’m quickly reminded in Hebrews 6:17-20 NIV.

¹⁷ Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. ¹⁸ God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. ¹⁹ We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, ²⁰ where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

Hope…

The K.I.S.S. ~ The highway to heaven!

Every day is your opportunity to connect to your heavenly Father. And that is why hope is so deep-seated within our being.

God wants you (and I) to keep our focus on Him, not the individual pathways that make up your day. Because God wants to make a way.

The end of this week was challenging to say the least. First off, we had to send our grandson back with his parents. Now, I knew that was going to happen. But you get used to the craziness that the quiet seems undesireable.

However, then the extreme happened. My husband had the trifecta with bad luck or whatever you want to call it.

His glasses broke, then it was the sole of his shoe. And we ladies know how bad that is.

Finally, what changed everything was a phone call.

I exclaimed, “Hey Babe! And then our little grandson yells through his smile…’Papa!’

My husband goes on to ask, “Where are you?”

“I’m home. Why?”

He replies with a sigh, “Oh. You don’t have my truck?”

“Uhh, no.”

“Well, I guess it’s been stolen.”

That’s how our Memorial weekend began.

Now, there’s no driving on the highway, except the highway to heaven. That can never be stolen or taken from you ever!

So it’s a process of going through the craziness and talking with police over a 48-hour period, none of which is fun. But one thing my husband and I never let go of was hope.

The situation could have been so much worse. It could have been a car jacking or a robbery at gunpoint. But none of those things happened.

We choose to continue driving on the highway to heaven.

We don’t understand why this happened, yet are grateful for our health and each other.

With God, nothing is impossible. Yes, this world isn’t always rainbows and roses, but it is with God.

Grab on to the hope that anchors the soul, firm and secure.

Let God provide your miles of greatness no matter where your steps lead you today. He will make a way.
