Parents fall into the trap of doing what comes easy for them, instead of focusing on what’s best for the child. What is your agenda for your child?
We all have hopes and dreams for our children. But as they get older and come into their own selves, they begin to develop dreams and hopes for their lives.

Many parents try to make life easy for their kids by getting them on a better team
All of this is so the children don’t have to work as hard as their parents did growing up.
The more you make it easy for your kids, the more you remove the struggle necessary for learning. ~ Maxine Lagacé
And without the struggle, they don’t have the opportunities to experience their strengths.
Don’t limit your children by making their lives easy.
We as parents need to be challenging our children to see their reflections in action.
Challenge them to grow to know themselves.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Challenge your child to grow to know himself/herself!
Your child grows based on outcomes and experiences throughout his/her lifetime. When this is obsolete or minimized, the child is the one who suffers.
- Release the reigns. – Yes, you want what’s best for your child. But that doesn’t mean you make sure everything is a win for your child. That’s not real life. A loss is beneficial. Release the reigns.
- Encourage your child to reflect. – As your child matures in age, teaching him/her how to reflect on pivotal moments gives him/her room to understand the deeper side of life. This is a skill that will expand as he/she matures.
- Simplify to amplify. – When teachable moments arise, don’t try to give too many specifics or details that are too deep. When you simplify as much as possible, you give your child the opportunity to amplify his/her strengths.
Life is not easy. Being a parent is tough. However, parenting doesn’t have to feel like a chore in your life.
You are doing your best and looking for ways to become better. That in itself is commending.
CHALLENGE: Is your agenda for you or your child?
