How can you reduce your stress and increase your calm? Dr. Jay Winner says, “If you want a relaxed body, you can do it by relaxing your mind. If you want a relaxed mind, relax your body.”
Stress can contribute to many medical problems, including heart disease, obesity, and headaches, not to mention the toll it takes on your emotional well-being.

But why don’t we slow down in order to speed up?
Busyness still seems to be a badge of honor. And when feeling accomplished becomes the exclamation point of success, there lies a danger that repeats itself.
That repetition can lead to further damaging your health and well-being.
What if you could….
- Be a better listener for your family, and in your personal and professional life?
- Be happier and more content?
- Handle challenges differently, giving you permission to still be in control?
- Be successful without the assumption that busyness is the answer?
How would that change your life?
When stress is prolonged over a period of time without the resolution of calm, it can induce physical and emotional challenges. Your body is positioned in the “fight or flight” response accelerating your epinephrine and ncreasing cortisol, which compromises your immune system. It doesn’t work as well.
Think back to the last time you were sick. Usually you can connect the dots that stress was present.
There are many health conditions that are linked to stress.
- Heart disease
- IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)
- High blood pressure
- Migraine & Tension headaches
- Esophageal reflux
- Psoriasis
- Fibromyalgia
- Obesity
- Acne
- Depression
- Blood sugar control in Diabetes
- Hypertension
- Eczema
- Infertility
- Premature aging
And there’s more. But you get the point that stress contributes in all areas of your health, or lack there of.
So what if you could live a better life without the added stress or at least learning how to bring calm in your life?
The K.I.S.S. ~ Induce C.A.L.M. in your life!
Calm comes in all shapes and sizes, and is specific to you. Some people can manage stress better than others. But don’t look side to side. Comparison is a stress factor, too.
However, there is some stress that can be good. It all results in finding the balance for your life.
- CLAIM your day. You do this when you create a routine of rest. Sleep is so important. Rest is so important. Just sitting down to catch your breath and see what’s around you. Don’t be tempted to scroll, because that can rush your internal comparison clock. The idea is not to speed up. You want to slow down in order to speed up.
- ACCELERATE your control. This comes from abdominal breathing, also known as diaphragmatic breathing. This stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system which allows you to relax. Pay close attention to each breath. Connecting your mind
- LEAD with joy. So limit your YES. You don’t have to be the hero for everyone. Balance what you do
- MAGNIFY your influence. It’s all about how to mind your thoughts. Patiently live in the moment. See what is there to see. Feel what is there to feel. Hear what is there to hear. Taste what is there to taste. Smell what is there to smell. Focus on the moment. Don’t lead your moments with your to-do list. Hone in on the one.
