How to make you a priority is a challenging event everyday. You have so many responsibilities and feel guilty if you aren’t taking care of someone else beside yourself.
You need to be a priority in your life. But women tend not to. Instead, you run quickly to take care of others’ needs before your own. That can be detrimental to your health and well-being. You need time to refresh your spirit.
You are quick to say, “I can’t make myself a priority. I feel guilty. And well, it’s not me.” You cling to the super woman syndrome.

However, you are doing yourself an injustice. You are hurting not only you, but your loved ones. You can’t be your best when running on half empty. When your heart is empty, so are your actions and dreams. You aren’t the priority.
So how to make you a priority? You need to get in the joy zone!

- Choose ONE thing a day just for you! (A quiet, hot bath; workout; 15 minutes with no children; etc.)
- Take time to BREATHE and FOCUS on how you want to FEEL. (This is your mindset shift. What you think about, you bring about.)
- Fill in the GAPS of your day with HAPPINESS and PRESENCE. (Savor that cup of coffee; take a mental snapshot of your chat with your child in between school and activities; enjoy playing with your puppy.)
Remember, the joy zone is your way of staying connected to your emotions, feelings, actions, thoughts and attitudes to keep you on your beautiful journey.
