- When you’re walking you’re not sedentary.
- Walking can reduce your risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes.
- Improves your mood.
- Improves sleep.
- Supports your joint health.
- Improves circulation.
- Improves your balance and coordination.
- Walking 30 minutes a day per research helps to reduce the risk of coronary heart disease, enhance mental well-being, improve lipid blood profile, reduce the risk of osteoporosis, maintain body weight, trim your waistline, lower risk of obesity, and reduce the risk of breast cancer and colon cancer.

The only thing getting in your way to optimum health is you and your excuses (i.e., not enough time, the weather is bad, too many things to do, already working out, etc.).

- Start small (10-15 minutes for beginners; 30 minutes for intermediate to advance)
- Dress appropriately (good shoes, proper clothing).
- Safety first.
- Warm up and cool down.
- Stretch.
Things to keep in mind.
- Watch your posture. Look forward, the direction you’re walking.
- Keep neck in the neutral position. Don’t look down.
- Shoulders back and down. Be relaxed.
- Allow your arms to swing freely, slight bend in the elbows.
- Tuck under your hips, no arched back.
- Abdominals tightened.
- Walk heel to toe, a rolling effect.
