A tough topic to talk about is faith. But what’s more challenging is when you’re asked, “How big is your faith?”.
That’s a heart-stopping, gulping moment. However, you don’t want the crickets hanging out too long — silence makes everyone uncomfortable.

So you’re quick on the draw rambling something like, “I have a strong faith. I know if something isn’t working, God will figure it out.”
How much of that statement is really true for you?
We’re quick to talk BIG. But do your actions match your statement?
How big is your faith?
This is a time of reflection. No judgement here. We can become complacent with where we are in our life. I personally have been wrestling with this question.
In fact today, I’ve had a lot of bombs dropped in my lap. I even told my mom, “I feel like I’m going to implode.”
I was feeling out of control, weak, and only saw the negative with each turn of the hour.
This is NOT me! So I went for a walk. And during the walk, I was able to reflect and listen to God’s whispers.
So I have two questions for you.
- How big is your faith?
- How independent are you?
These two questions go together. Let me explain.
When things are going well, do you keep things going smoothly, not asking much from God. Yes, you’re an independent woman. You got this! You don’t want to bother God. Everything is ok.
But God says, “No it’s not!”.
You have to understand God wants your dependency. He wants you to rely on him, to be dependent on Him. It’s not about your doings, your vision. It’s about God’s vision.
It might sound really good to say or gloat about how independent you are. We even want our children to be independent. Yet God wants you dependent on Him ALWAYS, regardless of where you are in your life.
REFLECTION: How big is YOUR faith?
The K.I.S.S. ~ Answer with an honest heart!
- Are you acting out of your own will? your own strength?
- Are you making it a point to include God, being dependent on Him and Him alone.
“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” ~ Matthew 17:20
